Blue Bird Gardens

We have a farm. A huge farm. We have acres and acres of potatoes, beets,squash, onions, watermelon, etc. We even have chickens! You name it, we have it! It's wonderful! Our farm is Bluebird Gardens, a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Through the CSA, members connect with the farm through the weekly emails which tell what is in the box this week, how it might be used and other events of the farm. We receive boxes of produce for 20 weeks, June through mid October. We members connect with the growing number of youtube videos giving progress updates of the farm as well as specialized topics. The solidifying connections occur when the CSA members attend the farm harvest events. At these events, members stock up for winter, talk with other CSA members and farm staff, visit the chickens, pigs and turkeys and have a picnic in the magic woods.

Myself, Ed and Kelsey harvested our bounty for the winter on Friday afternoon. It was a beautiful day to do it. Not many of our fellow farmers were there yet, so it wasn't crowded. We are now set for the winter! We also shared some of our harvest. We made a few small care packages and distributed them to friends and neighbors.....and they were delighted!
